Laurence Walden AKA “Blinky”, a Chicago native now residing in Jacksonville, Florida. A self taught artist as well as an accomplished jazz vocalist, playwright and historian. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force where he served as a technical illustrator and was the featured vocalist with the Air Force Jazz Band. He has created album covers and costume designs for several entertainers and has received numerous awards for his art renderings in competitions and exhibits the world over. Artist Laurence Walden is now creating the majority of the art that is featured throughout the newly renovated Dunns-Josephine Hotel in historic Overtown, Miami Florida. He has also just recently rendered a mural- a tribute to African American veterans who have served in every war on the east wall of Building at 531 W. Union St. Jacksonville, Florida.
